Due to further development with our business, a new role has been created to join our Commercial Team here at VictoriaPlum.com as Pricing & Promotions Planner (internally known as Commercial Planning Executive).

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who has worked previously in a planning role and is looking to expand their skills in to a more commercial, promotions and pricing lead role.

The role

Working in a small team, this role is fully supporting the Head of Trading in regard to implementation, planning and providing commercial insight in to all pricing and promotions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create and coordinate the promotional calendar.
  • Effective communication with the commercial, marketing and supply chain teams to achieve mutual goals.
  • Managed and drive the sales mix by category and brand to ensure maximisation of margins.
  • Accurate maintenance of all prices and in accordance with advertising rules and commercial objectives.
  • Manage the pricing cycle to drive sales, along with supporting TV and marketing messages, all while maintaining advertising standards and commercial objectives.
  • Review and learn through the pricing cycle, promotions and product pricing through analysis to optimise margin.
  • Database maintenance of product, prices and promotions.
  • Monitor competitors to fully understand the value positioning in the market and react accordingly.

With strong people skills, this role would require someone to work well in a team, be able to influence and communicate in a way that is in keeping with company values.

Well organised, driven by process and the ability to prioritise is crucial, along with a keen eye for detail and pride in their work, getting things right first time.

Finally, a naturally analytical mind with an understanding of financial concepts such as pricing, margin, contribution, average order sales value, sales forecasting and planning.
