Do I need anything else, like underlay or adhesive?

Alan - 2 years ago

Hi Alan, no you can simply lay the flooring on top of a suitable surface. It contains insulation, so no need for underlay. There's also no need for adhesives or any other type of fixing.

Do I need to do any preparation before fitting?

Eddie - 2 years ago

Hello Eddie, leave the unopened flooring in the room you will be fitting it for 48hrs to allow it to adjust to room temperature. Also, make sure you’ve removed old flooring such as carpets or laminate. Make sure the surface upon which you’ll be laying your flooring is level. There should be no more than a 2mm (0.08 inches) difference per 1m (40 inches) length.

What tools do I need for the fitting?

Richard - 2 years ago

Great question Richard, you’ll need a steel ruler or framing square, a pencil, a carpet cutter or saw, a rubber tapping block and a hammer. Glue may be required, but only if you need to cut and reattach small pieces (for example, where you require holes for radiator pipes). You may also require spacers, but only if laying in a bathroom, new build or where your wall is unfinished.

What can I use to clean / maintain the flooring once I have fitted it?

Richard - 2 years ago

All you need is a mop and some warm, soapy water or a vacuum cleaner. The flooring has an anti-bacterial coating, so no harsh cleaning chemicals are needed.

Will my doors need trimming?

Roy - 2 years ago

Your doors may need trimming depending on the current gap between the bottom of your door and the floor minus your current flooring. This flooring is 5mm in height, therefore you can check this before you start.

Is it better to lay the flooring before the skirting boards and architraves have been fitted or after?

Sally - 2 years ago

Hi Sally, it would be best to lay the flooring first before the skirting boards etc to give a better finish around the edges.

Will my furniture damage the flooring?

Joyce - 2 years ago

Hi Joyce, the flooring is resistant to scratches, however we would recommend adding floor protector pads to the underside of any chair, table or item of furniture, to help prevent damaging your flooring.
