The frame provides the support for the toilet as well as the cistern, and the flush buttons are incorporated so they are in a convenient location. The waste pipe is also incorporated into the mounting frame, making it easier to connect to the outlet from the toilet.

Types of wall mounting frame

Do I need a mounting frame?

A stud wall is usually the best option for installing this style of toilet, either by using an existing partition or constructing a new one. A solid wall would still need extra support behind it, and may not be the best option as you still have to find space for the cistern on the other side, which may be a corridor or bedroom.
