Ordering something that turns out to be the wrong size or shape can potentially delay your new bathroom project. That’s why it’s important to check and double-check your order before you buy.
At Victoria Plum, we provide full and accurate product measurements, as well as technical drawings, so you’ll know the exact size of each item when you buy your full bathroom suite. We also offer suggestions of complementary products which fit with your chosen item.
To help you avoid some of the common mistakes that customers make when ordering, we’ve compiled a handy checklist below.
Measure before you order
As the old DIY saying goes “Measure twice, cut once”. Whilst you may not need to do any cutting, it certainly pays to measure your bathroom space carefully before you begin. It’s always best to sketch out your bathroom layout, making sure you mark the position of windows and doors.
Understand shower enclosure adjustment
To ensure you get the perfect fit, many of our shower enclosures and shower doors come with a degree of adjustment. For example, an 800mm x 800mm quadrant enclosure can fit a space between 760mm and 790mm by adjusting the wall profiles. This is important where walls are slightly out of true. Make sure you choose the right enclosure or door adjustment for your space.
Select the right radiator valves
Your choice of radiator valves will depend on the position of your existing pipework. For pipes that come up vertically from your floor, you will need angled radiator valves. For pipes that run horizontally along your wall, straight radiator valves are required.
Get a plumber involved
When planning your bathroom, it’s important to get the opinion of a plumber. Your plumber will advise on product positioning and give you a breakdown of all the associated costs.
