What sets Carron apart from the rest when it comes to bath manufacturing? Maybe it’s their 8-step process which each product undergoes.
Every stage along the way, from the initial mould, right the way through to packing and shipping, Carron take meticulous care and ensure the hand finish is perfect. In fact, they are so assured of this process, Carron offer incredible guarantees on their products, up to 30 years in some cases.

From ballistics to bathtubs: The Carron story
Carron may be famed for their baths, but their roots go back to a very different type of manufacturing.
Founded in 1759 on the banks of the Scottish river which bears its name, Carron was originally an ironworks which grew around the time of the Industrial Revolution. Close to the Firth of Forth and Edinburgh, the company became established as a maker of Carronades (short barrel naval guns), produced for the Royal Navy into the mid 19th century.
At its peak in 1814, Carron employed a vast workforce of over 2,000 people. As more peaceful times were established, Carron used their experience to diversify into other forms of manufacturing. Diverse products like stoves, engines and even the famous red telephone boxes which are instantly recognisable as a British design icon the world over, were produced at the Carron ironworks.
Among these new products, Carron began to produce bathroom sinks and baths, and, while the original Carron company came to an end, Carron Bathrooms took over, continuing the fine tradition of bathtub manufacturing and occupying the same site where it all began over 2 centuries earlier.
