Have you enjoyed seeing Sarah Beeny's new life in the country take shape? We'll show you how to recreate her family bathrooms, as featured in the TV series.
Sarah Beeny's recent Channel 4 TV series New Life in the Country has given us all a bit of much-needed light relief in recent times. I've certainly enjoyed watching Sarah and husband Graham's grand plans come together, from drawing board to reality, as they adjust to the country lifestyle. And, when it came to decorating the family bathrooms, Sarah turned to Victoria Plum for her products.
Starting from scratch meant Sarah and Graham had the luxury of a blank canvas, and decided to give each of their 4 sons, Charlie, Laurie, Billy and Raffey, an ensuite of their own. As Sarah explained in her recent interview with us, with the boys growing up so fast, she wanted to build a home to which they’d always want to return, even when they inevitably move out. It was also important that each bathroom had its own unique character.
In this style guide, we've recreated each of the bathrooms featured in the series, demonstrating how you can "Get the Look" in your own home. Which do you like best?
Charlie's bathroom
15-year-old Charlie, chose a bold, blue colour scheme, with the Dover province blue cast iron bath taking pride of place. We absolutely adore the metro tiles and have added further classical features, like the feature floor and Art Deco style mirror.

- Metro subway midnight blue bevelled gloss wall tile 100mm x 200mm

Laurie's bathroom
Laurie has gone for a slightly more traditional, pared-back setting, making it the perfect place for a treasured family heirloom in the form of the rocking chair. With room for a separate freestanding bath and shower enclosure, we've included both.

Billy's bathroom
Billy opted for a sleek, contemporary, wall-to-wall marble effect design, yet retained that classic charm which complements the rest of the home. The marble-effect walls can be achieved through the use of large format tiles, whilst vinyl flooring (which is both easy to fit and easy to clean) gives the impression of genuine wood.

Raffey's bathroom
The first thing which strikes you about Raffey's bathroom is the tiling, arranged in a smart horizontal stripe pattern. It's a modern bathroom with a period feel, complete with a traditional style freestanding shower bath, giving the option of a bath or shower. The choice of tiles and shower, give the room an almost Art Deco feel.

And finally, it's the bathroom the whole family have got their eyes on! Designed with a traditional, timeless theme, Sarah and Graham's ensuite is the pièce de résistance of the entire home. With his and hers basins, plus a stunning high level chain pull toilet, this really is the perfect place to start the day. And, pride of place, for those relaxing evenings, a luxurious pewter finish cast iron bath.
Whilst the actual bathroom has been decorated with genuine black marble, we've recreated the look using black countertop shelves and antique bronze wall mounted taps, plus antique gold accessories, for a glittery, glamorous finish.
