Master bathroom with bath
Just over £500
If your budget is quite tightly stretched, the Eden collection is a great starting point.
With a full range of bath, toilet, basin and tap options, the Eden collection from Orchard Bathrooms has been designed with everyday convenience and everyday low prices in mind. The look is modern, giving you a timeless bathroom that won’t date, and with careful maintenance, will last for many, many years to come.
And, for those who really want to save the pennies, I’d heartily recommend the Clarity collection. If you’re doing up a first-time home, or perhaps even a rental property, you’ll find everything you need at entry-level prices, without compromising on quality.
If you prefer taking a bath, a bath shower mixer tap is a low cost alternative to installing a full shower system, keeping costs down. You can also fit vinyl, laminate or composite flooring instead of tiling, as this will save on labour costs for a professional tiler. With a few simple tools, you can lay your vinyl flooring yourself.

Ensuite with recess shower enclosure
Under £600
If you already have a useful recess area in your ensuite, you already have a room layout that will help save you money. As ensuites tend to be smaller than the average master bathroom, it’s sometimes better to add space-saving elements such as a wall hung basin, although a shower installation may end up costing a little more than if you simply had a bath.
With the savings you make from the shower, you could trade up with your accessories. How about an on-trend black tap and luxury mirror?

Bathroom installation costs
Of course, buying your bathroom is just half the story. Unless you are a qualified plumber or bathroom fitter yourself, you’ll need to employ somebody to install your products for you.
If you already know a reputable bathroom fitter who is free to start work, that's great! If not, word-of-mouth recommendation is always a good place to begin the search. Ask friends and relatives who they have used and whether they did a good job. If you have a number of recommended bathroom fitters, arrange to show them your bathroom and get estimates. It is always best to meet a bathroom fitter face to face to be reassured of all those little questions you may have. If you are still struggling, try checkatrade.com.
You can even find out how much bathroom installation costs in our blog post, to give yourself a rough estimate of the total cost of your bathroom makeover.
