The colours we choose to use in our bathrooms have changed somewhat from generation to generation.
After years of using fairly unadventurous and neutral colours such as white, beige and brown, many people are now searching for bathroom inspiration in a variety of bold colours, with bathroom colour ideas springing up from a number of different sources.
Bathroom colours scene
Even though colourful bathrooms are growing in popularity, we certainly aren’t suggesting going back to the peach and avocado bathroom suites of the 1980s! Bold colours such as blues, greens and reds are some of the on-trend choices that are being seen in our customers’ bathrooms. And, if you really want to be up-to-the-minute with your trends, Pantone's official colour of 2015 was Marsala - an earthy red/brown hue, whilst the 2016 colour was Cherished Gold—a real winner for an Olympic year!
Judging by some of the stunning bathrooms we’ve seen, it's obvious how effective bold colours can be in highlighting your bathroom furniture.
Why not paint a feature wall with "colour of the year" Marsala?
Tiles or paint?
If you’re choosing to go with bold colours on your walls, you first need to decide if you’re using tiles, paint or both. Coloured tiles give a much more premium feel to your bathroom, but will require extra time, effort and money. Painting your walls can be cheaper and makes it much easier to update when you fancy a change, but doesn’t offer the waterproofed protection of a tiled wall.

Don’t forget to accessorise
A colourful bathroom idea won’t work if you don’t fully commit with the right accessories and finishing touches. Choosing towels, bath mats and decorations that match your colour theme will help you to accentuate your colour ideas and create a theme the flows throughout your bathroom.
