If you're looking for a quick refresh rather than a complete refit, we've come up with some quick and cost-effective ways to add a design theme to your bathroom. Using accessories from our Accents range, we'll show you how to achieve 4 on-trend looks and achieve more of those Little Bathroom Victories.
Throughout the year, we’ve been celebrating The Great British Bathroom in all its wonderful forms. From the smallest cloakroom to the grandest of grand designs, we’ve come up with fresh ideas for all situations.
In many cases, all a bathroom needs is a little TLC and a few well-chosen accessories to create a space that feels entirely new.
If you’re looking for a specific design theme, help is at hand. I’ve created 4 different styles, based on the latest in interior design trends, using the Accents accessories range from Victoria Plum. Check out my mood boards below.
1. Coastal
Trends may come and go but some things remain the same. Our love affair with the sea is an enduring one, especially when you consider the number of nautical-inspired bathrooms you’ll find in homes up and down the country. Creating a coastal theme in your bathroom really is plain sailing with the right accessories.
Some of the main things to aim for when creating a coastal theme include a colour palette that consists of various blue shades, navy stripes, painted wood (for that seaside feel), shell motifs and patterns and organic accessories.

2. Natural Elements
In an apparent backlash against the modern world, interior designers are turning to more natural materials, colours and textures when creating contemporary bathrooms. If you’d like to reconnect with nature, check out these accessories below.
Things to look out for when accessorising your bathroom include organic finishes and materials like wood and marble, natural colours like beige, taupe and brown, handmade, crafted elements like baskets or macramé plant hangers and round shapes which replicate natural forms.

3. Traditional Botanical
If your bathroom is bare and functional, some Traditional Botanical accessories could really help to add a softer touch to proceedings.
Perfect for more traditional bathroom designs, keep an eye out for the following elements when accessorising: Vintage-inspired finishing touches like ceramic jars, soft, neutral colours, ornamental designs like decorative mirror frames and woven baskets.

4. Urban Industrial
Whether you live in a city centre apartment or out in the countryside, the urban industrial look still holds massive appeal. With a gritty, exciting edge, this look is cool, contemporary and also highly practical.
To make sure your bathroom is more “downtown” than down-at-heel, I’d recommend looking for the following when accessorising: Black accents around borders, thin, urban stripes, plus concrete and metal finishes like hammered metal.
