Like the look of these bathrooms? In this expert style guide, we’ll show you how you can “Get the Look” in your own home.
Carefully crafted contemporary style
The Strada II collection from Ideal Standard has been designed to offer the ultimate flexibility when planning your perfect bathroom. From the largest family bathroom to smallest cloakroom, you’ll find a wide selection of toilets, basins and furniture to help you create a carefully crafted contemporary space.
Setting new standards in terms of hygiene and maintenance, Strada II will ensure you spend more time relaxing in your new bathroom, rather than cleaning it.
Of course, style is at the very heart of this collection, designed in collaboration with the international industrial designers at Studio Levien. Soft geometric shapes combine with fine edges and contemporary curves, for an on-trend look that can be best described as “gentle minimalism”.
Planning your family bathroom
When planning a family bathroom one of the first things you’ll need to do is consider the specific needs of each family member. If you have small children, safety is a key priority, as well as a well-proportioned tub for bath time.
At the same time, you’ll also want something that looks stylish…
One of the best ways of bringing your vision together is to create a mood board. Pick out images, colours, patterns and textures and bring them all together in one place. To help you on your way, here’s one I created earlier.
Get the Look: Family bathroom
Key elements for your contemporary family bathroom:
- A mix of soft, geometric shapes—clean lines, no fussiness
- Sleek, streamlined fittings—taps and showers shouldn’t be overly ornate
- A muted colour palette—whites, greys and blues are a great choice
- Large mirrors—to enhance both natural and artificial light
- Seamless storage—integrate units into the overall design of your room
- Selected accessories—art prints, treasured possessions and bathroom plants for a final flourish
OK, so you may not have a bathroom quite as large as this one but, by using the same principles, you can create something that looks equally as impressive.
Bath
Your bath should be the centrepiece of your entire room and they don’t come any more luxurious than this freestanding bath from the Concept Air collection, with its tapered lines and sleek design.
Furniture
The perfect pairing for you and your partner. The twin Strada II vanity units provide ample storage in any shared bathroom.
Shower
A walk in shower is a great way to open up your space and create a seamless look. Use the Ideal Standard shower and glass panel to create an easily accessible area.
Toilet
To keep things sleek and contemporary, we’ve fitted the Strada II back to wall toilet into a false wall, keeping the cistern neatly concealed from view. Plus, this has allowed for recessed storage areas.
Tiles, flooring and accessories
So as not to detract from the stylish suite, we’ve kept the colour scheme muted. Large format light blue tiles on the walls, plus stone effect slate grey tiles around the bath look stunning. Meanwhile, a durable wood effect vinyl flooring has been used throughout.
2 large mirrors adorn the walls opposite the window, along with wall lights for extra illumination. Some selected pot plants and prints make this an entirely unique space.
Planning your cloakroom
At first glance, your cloakroom may seem like a fairly functional space. However, it’s one of the few places your house guests will visit, leaving a lasting impression. To make sure it’s a positive one, we’ve provided you with some tips and a mood board below.
Get the Look: Cloakroom
Key elements for your contemporary cloakroom:
- A sleek yet stylish suite with clean lines and little in the way of adornment
- A bright and bold main colour, like yellow
- A feature wall or floor—using patterned tiles
- Sophisticated storage solutions—for cleaning products and toiletries
- A multi-functional space—consider hanging space for coats or a rack for shoes
Furniture
It may feel like you don’t have the space, yet a wall hung vanity unit, like the Strada II, provides plenty of drawer space. Complement with a matching tall wall unit for those larger items.
Toilet
Perfect for a compact space, we used the Strada II back to wall toilet, fitted to a false wall.
Tiles, flooring and accessories
Create a great first impression by adding a cheerful and vibrant look. Use a bold primary colour as your base and match with a feature floor and wall, using patterned tiles. Add a touch of greenery and some carefully selected accessories and you’re all set.
