Keeping up with the latest interior design trends is one of the most enjoyable parts of decorating your home.
If you’re anything like me, you’ll love poring through magazines and trawling Pinterest for those hot products that would look great in your home. So, to help you on your way, I’ve taken a look at some of the biggest and best bathroom ideas for 2018. Which ones are you keen to try?
1. Special finish taps
Everyone knows that it is the accessories which make a room and in the bathroom that means one thing: taps! This year, we are seeing chrome being replaced by a whole range of different finishes, from gold to brushed black. Why not try one of the special finishes from our Spencer collection and give your bathroom a quick and easy update?
2. Sleek furniture
Obviously a master bathroom needs furniture but did you know there are many ways you can inject some contemporary styling into these functional pieces?
In 2018, we’ve seen a whole host of new vanity unit designs which offer a sleek profile, including handle-less drawers, recessed basins and even lighting units. One of the hottest looks, which is really taking off, is the semi wall hung design, featuring legs. You’ll find a great choice of these as part of our Hale bathroom furniture range.
3. Industrial style décor
The industrial look is something interior designers keep coming back to again and again. Indeed, one of the most popular attractions at the recent Ideal Home Show was our very own soft industrial bathroom.
There are plenty of ways you can add an industrial twist to your bathroom, however one of our favourite additions has been this striking black framed shower panel, part of the Jacuzzi shower enclosures range.
4. Straight baths with freestanding credentials
One of the most popular bathroom products in recent years has been the freestanding bath, not least for its luxurious look and feel. However, for those of us with small bathrooms, it can feel like we’re missing out on all the fun. Not anymore!
Product designers are overcoming this dilemma with a range of baths that, to all intents and purposes, look like a freestanding tub, yet fit neatly into the corner of your room. They’re called back to wall baths and are available in contemporary and traditional styles (like The Bath Co. Dulwich back to wall roll top bath below) to match your bathroom design.
5. Bold bathroom colours in 2018
Every bathroom needs colour, even if only in small amounts. Colour affects the mood that is felt within the bathroom and can also provide extra interest. Best used creatively, colour inspires and leaves you feeling less overwhelmed by bland grey cityscapes but should be used sparingly if opting for a crisp, clean white bathroom.
The big colours this year are Millennial Pink and Ultra-Violet (see below), so why not be bold with your choices and make a big splash?
