Is your bathroom simply drowning in clutter? We show you 5 things you need to look out for when choosing any new storage.
A lack of space" is, more often than not, one of the main issues that homeowners throughout the UK face on a daily basis. So that's why bathroom storage is absolutely vital when it comes to making your home a happy place.
With an ever increasing number of toiletries, lotions, potions and cleaning products, our bathrooms can easily become a less-than relaxing place to be. If you're a parent with small children, you’ll have the added risk of standing on their favourite, spiky Disney character whilst getting into the shower in the morning.
Well, help is at hand. Bathroom storage isn't as expensive or as difficult to achieve as you may have first thought. So here are 5 great things to look out for if you want to make greater use of your space.
1. Shower bath storage
A multi-functional shower bath is already a great space saver for smaller bathrooms. You get the best of both worlds, with a bath for those lazy, relaxing evenings and an invigorating shower to wake you up in the morning. But did you also realise you can use this space for storage too?
By fitting a simple wire basket (pictured below) or corner shelving, you’ll instantly increase your bathroom storage space, providing a convenient place for your shampoo and shower gel (especially handy for those times when you get soap in your eye!).

2. Combine your toilet and basin
Another highly inventive way of making great use of space, is the combined toilet and basin unit. With a stylish back to wall toilet and small basin unit, you not only get a stylish solution (available in a range of popular finishes), but you get the added bonus of a storage cupboard and shelf.

3. Wall power
Using wall space is an effective way of keeping your floorspace clear. Tall wall hung units are ideal, along with mirror cabinets which provide light and even wall hung vanity units can be used, to combine the space beneath your basin with effective storage.

4. The right shades for small spaces
The colour of your bathroom storage may not seem that important, yet it can have a major impact on the overall look and feel of your décor. Gloss white is very popular, as it is reflective, hard-wearing and scratch-resistant, making your bathroom feel larger. However, grey is also an on-trend shade for modern bathrooms.
Add some accent colour with wood effect finishes such as oak and walnut or bring a more organic feel with riven grey (see below).

5. Short projection
Look out for furniture with short projection—that is furniture which only protrudes less than 400mm away from a wall. This will help you squeeze every last inch out of your floorspace and keep within your bathroom clearance guidelines.
