Stylist's Selection: Nicky's top bathroom picks for May

May is one of my favourite months of the year. With summer just around the corner, it’s the perfect time of year to freshen up your house and your mind. My woolly throws are safely tucked away in the spare bedroom, my duvet is officially swapped to a lower tog and I’m on the search for bright accessories to lighten up my home.

This month, I’ve picked out a selection of products which are both simple and practical, emulating a sense of a calm and creating a clean and refreshing atmosphere. Your bathroom should become a place where you can relax and wash away all the stresses and strains of everyday life.

My favourite bath is…

…the L shaped shower bath from Mode Bathrooms which comes in a left and right handed format. You can also choose to have an additional towel rail too. If you don’t have room for a separate shower enclosure, this is the perfect compromise, with ample space for a refreshing shower and enough room for a long, relaxing soak in the bath.

My favourite vanity is…

…the South Bank natural wood washstand and 600mm basin from Mode Bathrooms. It comes in a lovely natural wood finish for an organic look and even features a handy shelf which is the perfect size for a basket, to hide away all those products. With a design that is both clean and simple, it helps eliminate the feeling of clutter, opening up your space making your bathroom look even bigger.

My favourite mirror is…

My favourite accessory is…

…the South Bank natural wood towel ladder from Mode Bathrooms. It’s the perfect accessory for this look. Not only does it look wonderfully organic, it also helps keep your towels perfectly organised.

My favourite floor tiles are…

…[Laura Ashley] heritage wicker down grey matt tiles. Featuring a wonderfully intricate pattern, you can add style and elegance to your home, with these beautiful Victorian style wall and floor tiles.

My favourite wall tiles are…

…[British Ceramic Tile] Metro flat white gloss tiles. The superb white gloss finish is ideal for smaller bathrooms or kitchens, as it reflects light, enhancing the feeling of space.
