No matter the size of your budget, you can easily transform your bathroom space. Whether you’re simply updating accessories or swapping products in and out, I’ll demonstrate how 1 bathroom can be given 3 completely different looks.
In these uncertain times, it’s hardly surprising that many of us are keeping a firm grip on the old purse strings. If you’re happy with the main elements, like your bath, toilet and basin, you could simply refresh your bathroom space with a new colour scheme, walls, floors and bathroom accessories. This will cost much less than a new bathroom suite, plus it’s something you can easily do yourself, without having to call in the professionals.
Of course, if your budget can stretch a little further, a new bath, taps and even some furniture could radically alter the look and even the functionality of your bathroom for the better.
To show you just how easy it is to do, I’ve come up with 3 completely different looks for 1 average-sized UK bathroom.
Look 1—Fresh for summer
My first look is all about bringing a ray of sunshine into your bathroom, not just during the summer but all year round.
With striking yellow floral print shower wall panels, I’ve created a bathroom that is fresh and cheerful. Reflecting the warm, yellow theme, I’ve added brushed brass finish taps to both the sink and bath.
The light wood effect flooring is actually made from laminate, which is easy to fit and simple to clean. I’ve managed to keep the look light, bright and breezy with a matching selection of white accessories with gold accents. Everything is tied together with a fresh and fluffy set of plain white towels.
I used the following products:
- Accents Deacon brushed brass tumbler and holder
- Accents Deacon brushed brass toilet roll holder
- Accents Deacon brushed brass towel ring
- Accents Matrix glass corner shelf
- Accents Whitehaven white ceramic soap dispenser
- Orchard Dulwich matt white bathroom mirror
- Calcolo Nipigon amber oak chevron water resistant laminate flooring 8mm
- Accents snow white 6 piece Egyptian cotton towel bale
Look 2—Luxury for less
I really love this second look, not least for its sophisticated and timeless style. The on-trend geometric tiles around the shower and bath area, plus stone effect floor tiles, add a real luxurious edge.
Green remains a popular bathroom colour and the palette here, picked out in the vanity unit, bath mat and towels, is refined yet welcoming. For the finishing touches, I’ve selected some simple wall mounted accessories, gorgeous, coloured glass jars and a trailing plant above the toilet.
I used the following products:
- Accents bevelled edge oval mirror
- Accents Matrix glass corner shelf
- Accents Flex toilet brush and holder
- Accents Flex soap dispenser
- Accents Flex tumbler holder
- Calcolo Hope green Hexagon gloss ceramic wall tile 150 x 173mm
- Calcolo Victorian Metro white gloss bevelled ceramic wall tile 100 x 200mm
Look 3—Contemporary edge
Even in an average-sized bathroom, you can recreate that spa-like feel with the right choice of colours, patterns and accessories.
My third bathroom look is highly contemporary in style, featuring a simple grey colour palette, plus desirable black accents picked out in the shower screen, taps, shower, mirror and accessories. The marble-effect shower wall panels offer on-trend design without having to spend additional time and money, while the light grey tiled flooring is easy to maintain, adding to the clean, bright décor.
We’ve broken up the flat surfaces with texture, using the bath mat and towels, whilst the wall mounted accessories bring a classic touch. Minimalist in its approach, this relaxed and calming environment is perfect for unwinding after a long, hard day.
I used the following products:
- Mode Vignelli round black LED illuminated mirror 600mm with demister
- Accents Matrix glass corner shelf
- Accents Medano black ceramic soap dispenser
- Accents Deacon matt black toilet roll holder
- Accents Deacon matt black towel ring
- Accents Deacon matt black tumbler and holder
- Calcolo Victorian Metro white gloss bevelled ceramic wall tile 100 x 200mm
- Calcolo Cadiz mid grey flat gloss wall and floor tile 600mm x 600mm
