Trend update: Going all natural

Posted by Nicky Kingston in Style guides | 7 years ago 0 min read

We're trendspotting again in the office this week and the biggest thing we are noticing is the use of the great outdoors...indoors.

It seems that plants are being used all over the house and people are recreating the beauty of nature with natural materials and natural patterns. This is a trend that could work all year round if you plan it correctly and would work well in any room.

Going all natural

As with all trends, there are so many different ways in which they can be interpreted so we have broken this trend down into 3 different areas:

Natural colours

Colour is one of the easiest things to change in a room but it can be so effective and really change the way a room looks and feels.

Oak and white gloss bedroom furniture

Filing your room with earthy colours is such a simple way of introducing this trend to your home. Adding colour to your room can be done in many different ways: paint, wallpaper, tiles, accessories or furniture.

What's really great about this trend is that all of the colours work perfectly together creating a wonderful neutral palette.

Textures

Another simple way to introduce this trend to your rooms is to add natural textures. This can be achieved through soft furnishings such as cushions, throws, curtains or even furniture.

Textures

We've noticed that this is happening a lot at the moment and seems to work really well if textures are layered up and styled in a mix and match scheme.

Plants

What says nature more than plants?

Plants look amazing indoors and can even improve the air quality….win-win in my opinion.

Plants

Plants will work throughout your home and can add the finishing touches to a shelf, table or even just the corner of your room, really allowing you to bring a little of the outdoors inside.

We would love to see how you are adding the outdoors to your home. Please share your style on Instagram @VictoriaPlumUK
