Instead, it encourages a more expressive and eclectic approach, incorporating a variety of shapes, colours and textures. Lush indoor plants, vertical gardens or even botanical-themed wallpaper can introduce a refreshing organic touch. In 2024, I expect to see more home interiors that blend modern or contemporary design elements with rustic or country-inspired styles. In bathrooms, this could mean combining sleek, minimalist fixtures with warm, natural materials like rustic wood or stone. For example, in our bathroom below, the farmhouse style interior, complete with wood beams, and the weathered-wood vanity units blend seamlessly with the simple freestanding bath, gold taps and sofa.

With changing work habits, brought about by the COVID pandemic, many homeowners are now turning their back on the urban sprawl of the city for a quiet life in the country. Even TV celebs like Sarah Beeny have begun embracing the rural life, which is why we feel bathroom trends like this will experience a boom in the coming years, as budding interior designers look to leave their mark on country homes.
